MEET NATE

Nate EicherĀ

Ā
I became interested in training horses at the age 12 when my dad took my brothers and I to a horse auction where they were homing BLM mustangs. We adopted our first few mustangs there. We somehow got a few rideable and did overnight trail rides and had fun with them.
Ā
When I was 14, I really wanted to get a quarter horse, we didnā€™t have internet, so I would watch ads in the catalogs, finally I found a 3 yr old Reg QH mare halfways across the country, so I mailed my hard earned $1200 to them, had her hauled in and started her from scratch, that really fueled my passion to learn more so I started reading books from John Lyon, then buying training videos, and at one time I bought $500 worth from Clinton Anderson! Which was a Lot for me!
Ā
Then At the age of 15 I began work as a stall cleaner at the Bar F Ranch, cleaning 25 stalls, feeding etc, it was a western pleasure, cutting and team roping equine facility in Pennsylvania and that is where my passion grew to learn how to train all disciplines. Soon I started working horses on the ground and eventually riding and training under Rob Foster.
Ā
A number of years later I went out on my own training for various clients,
In 2013 a friend encouraged me to do a mustang makeover, so I did, that year started my competitions with wild mustangs, leading into many Championships and reserve champions!
Ā
Ā In 2022 I was invited to compete at the Road To The Horse Wildcard Challenge, we picked a horse we named 'Ol Red and ended up being reserve Champion!
Ā
Ā A few years ago, we went on a journey competing in the Extreme Cowboy Race, we entered the green mustang division with a client's horse, we were blessed to become World Champions in the division!
Ā The following year I took "Heza Mercedes" to the EXCA, he ended being the Texas State Champion, National Champion and 12th in the World standings in the Pro Division!
Ā
We came down to Texas in 2017 and we (my wife, myself, and our three children) are blessed to have a ranch here in Mineral Wells, training, doing clinics and helping people get more connected with their horses!
